An update has surfaced regarding the overwhelming negative reaction behind-the-scenes in WWE to the recent meeting held by Vince McMahon and top management.
More on the meetings that WWE held over the past two weeks informing everyone that there would be very little in the way of raises, promotions or bonuses.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the news was delivered to the writing team by new VP Christine Lubrano after she was told to do so by Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard.
Another VP, Mark Carrano broke the news to the producers. This apparently went over “horribly” due to her relatively short tenure with the company coupled with the fact that almost everyone expected some sort of bonus as part of their annual review.
As far as wrestlers go, some whose contracts are set to expire soon, have been told that there will be no raises due to the pandemic – a stark reversal from last year when WWE was handing out lucrative contracts, presumably due to the competition from AEW.
