Well, that didn’t take long!
WWE’s recently launched segment “Raw Underground” appears to already have been abandoned, according to multiple reports from the pro wrestling community.
The feature hasn’t been seen on Monday Night Raw for weeks and the report notes that WWE initially put Underground on hold due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak that affected a lot of NXT wrestlers – the same ones that were used as “extras” in the Raw Underground audience.
With the recent WWE Draft that took up much of Raw this week, the segment simply didn’t fit and there remains a very legitimate fear that continually bringing all those people to a Raw show could unnecessarily be exposing the roster to another outbreak.
As indicated before, WWE has attempted to tighten their COVID-19 protocols by keeping NXT wrestlers completely separate and away from either the Raw or Smackdown talent.
We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as updates continue to surface regarding WWE getting rid of the Raw Underground format.
