The Taz semi “shoot” promo on the Jon Moxley and Renee Young COVID-19 situation continues to be one of the main talking points throughout the pro wrestling world following this past Wednesday night’s AEW FYTER FEST night one special event.
During the 7/1 broadcast on TNT, it was announced that Brian Cage and Jon Moxley will now wrestle for the AEW World Championship at AEW Fight for the Fallen on 7/15 after originally being scheduled to headline next week.
Following this, Taz came out with Cage to cut a promo that was filled with shots not only directed to Moxley but subtle jabs at WWE too. For those who missed it, you can Watch Taz’s shoot promo from AEW FYTER FEST night one on 7/1.
At one point, Taz noted that AEW doesn’t run a “sloppy shot” which many took to as a shot towards WWE as they have been criticized for only recently started COVID-19 testing after a recent outbreak among performers last week.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline.com, it was reported that several people in WWE were said to be “very upset” with Taz’s line, probably because they consider that topic off limits as the two promotions engage in their ratings battle.
