Backstage Update On WWE’s Edict Banning Talent From Profiting From Third-Party Deals

Details continue to surface regarding the new rule WWE has implemented in recent weeks which has essentially banned its’ talent from engaging in third-party deals that benefit them financially.

WWE officials have noted that the recent communication to talent about “third party” platforms is not actually a new edict but rather a reminder of the terms of the contract they all signed.

The company reiterated that all talent are encouraged to be active across various social media platforms but that they shouldn’t be independently monetizing WWE owned or controlled intellectual property, which would include the wrestlers’ in-ring names that the company created.
