Backstage Update On WWE’s Planned Direction For Roman Reigns: Next Two Rivalries Revealed

A couple of future rivalries WWE has penciled in for “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns are sure to be a step-up for the WWE Universal Champion.

The original plan for the Roman Reigns and Jey Uso storyline was for it to only include one match at Clash of Champions, according to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by longtime respected pro wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer.

Rather than have them wrestle again at Hell in a Cell in a rematch, the initial idea for that PPV was to have a four-way match with Reigns defending against The Fiend, Braun Strowman and a fourth, unknown person.

This would explain why WWE teased the Reigns-Fiend match but ended up not following up on it.

WWE has loosely planned matches and programs between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan as well as Reigns against Kevin Owens.

We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as backstage news and potential spoilers regarding WWE’s planned direction for Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns continues to surface.
