Fightful Select reports that WWE decided to disband Damage CTRL in early May following Dakota Kai’s release from the company. The report indicated that announcers were instructed no longer to refer to any of the remaining members as “representing Damage CTRL.”

The publication inquired whether the group might still have a future with Asuka’s anticipated return. However, they were informed that, according to the current development of the company’s creative plans, the group is not expected to make a comeback. Nonetheless, Fightful Select noted that there is still a possibility for combinations of the group members to team up again when they are healthy and ready for in-ring competition. It was also mentioned that the name could potentially be revived.

With Bayley having split from Damage CTRL last year, Kai being released, Asuka still sidelined due to injury, and Sane also not yet back from her injury layoff at that time, IYO SKY remained the only active member. The group had already been disbanded by the time Sane made her WWE TV return later that month.
