WWE is holding Crown Jewel: Perth this weekend, followed a couple of weeks later by the next iteration of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Following that, attention will shift to a Survivor Series: WarGames in San Diego, which takes place near the end of November.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the tentative plan is for Cody Rhodes to defend the title against whomever wins a planned SNME match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu (though it should be noted that this match is scheduled for next week’s Smackdown so whether they run it back again for SNME remains to be seen). The winner is believed to end up being McIntyre. Another match currently listed internally is John Cena challenging Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Title.
Two WarGames matches are also set for the show. Meltzer reported that the men’s match is expected to see CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu and Jey Uso along with a fifth man to take on Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory. The fifth man on the babyface side is expected to be either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight. The inclusion of Theory on the heel side could mean that WWE has plans to have him join The Vision stable, though Theory has been out of action since July due to an injury.
The women’s WarGames match at this point is scheduled to be AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & IYO SKY taking on Becky Lynch, Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax and Lash Legend.
