Travis Scott was involved in John Cena’s monumental heel turn at last night’s WWE Elimination Chamber. Fightful Select now has more news as to why the popular rapper was there.

Scott and WWE have built a strong partnership over recent months. He was presented with a new Hardcore Title, and his track “4×4” became the theme song for WWE Raw. He also made a special appearance alongside Jey Uso during the Netflix premiere of WWE Raw.

Back in January, it was reported that WWE was planning to expand its collaboration with Scott, but it turns out the connection goes much deeper. Sources within WWE have since revealed that most of the company had no idea Scott would be part of the angle at that time. However, it was later confirmed that by mid-January, plans were already set in motion to involve him in a major storyline.

When asked about the possibility of Scott stepping into the ring, The Rock hinted that it’s a real possibility. Fightful Select has since learned that Scott has been undergoing wrestling training, with one source mentioning he was learning at a WWE Legend’s wrestling school. Talks are reportedly ongoing about having Scott participate in future matches, although there’s no official timeline for when that might happen.
