— Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre made his return to TV last night after an absence of several weeks and made an impact by attacking Sami Zayn after his match against Seth Rollins. Rumors of McIntyre’s return had been reported recently but it was believed that his return wouldn’t happen for another few weeks as creative was being developed to incorporate him back into storylines.

— PWinsider.com reports that not only was McIntyre back sooner than expected, but that the reason being discussed backstage on why he was hurried back is due to the unexpected injury suffered by Bronson Reed at Survivor Series where he injured both his ankles while executing a splash from the top. It appears McIntyre’s initial return date was around the holiday week as he was advertised to be competing there and likely be back on TV for the Netflix debut in January.
