As previously reported, the men’s WarGames Match at next month’s WWE Survivor Series premium live event (PLE) will feature a reunited Bloodline taking on The Vision. This matchup is being described internally as one of the most star-studded WarGames matches in company history.
The babyface team is expected to include CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu, and Jey Uso, with a fifth mystery partner yet to be determined. Jimmy Uso and LA Knight are currently the leading candidates for that final spot. On the opposing side, the heel team will consist of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory. The inclusion of both Lesnar and Theory has surprised many within WWE, especially given Lesnar’s past rivalries with Reigns and Punk, and Theory’s recent injury.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been numerous injuries in WWE’s main event scene. With both Fatu and Rollins out for the immediate future, the men’s WarGames Match at Survivor Series might need to be adjusted. However, unless anything happens to Reigns, Punk, Breakker, or Reed, they are expected to lead their respective teams. It was also noted that some within the company speculated that, due to the injuries, the match might change to feature the Wyatt Family against the MFTs, as they are involved in a multi-person storyline.
Despite the current lighter feel of the main event roster, the report states there are still options available. The Survivor Series can serve as a launching pad for up-and-coming stars and big surprises, similar to what happened in 1990 with The Undertaker’s debut. A mystery partner on either side could also signal the call-up of someone ready for the main roster.
