In an update, Variety’s Justin Kroll (@KrollJvar) took to social media after the article was published to include some new information on the story.
According to Kroll, fellow future WWE Hall Of Famer Dave Bautista (Batista) was originally intended for the role that Cena is now rumored to play. He reportedly turned it down due to schedule commitments.
Additionally, the rumor making the rounds is that the character Cena would be playing in Suicide Squad 2 would be “Peacemaker.”

Couple things I forgot to add on this:
First this was the role originally intended by for Bautista but due to his massive work schedule, he had to pass.
Also I couldn’t confirm but believe Cena would be playing Peacemaker in the film
