Bobby Lashley smells his first-ever WWE Championship reign coming in the near future.
The Hurt Business member spoke with Sarah Schreiber following his victory over Braun Strowman on Monday night’s post-Elimination Chamber edition of Raw about his scheduled title match against The Miz on next week’s red brand show.
“First of all, we made it official yesterday, [at Elimination Chamber] so this is just a prelude to what’s gonna happen next week,” Lashley said when asked by Schreiber how confident he is that he will win his first-ever WWE Championship next week now that the match against The Miz is officially confirmed. “I showed Miz, I showed Braun, I showed everybody else on this roster, what Lashley is about, what The Hurt Business is about. It’s already written, I’m gonna tear Miz apart.”
At this point in the interview, MVP, who was standing alongside Lashley while he made the aforementioned comments, chimed in and promised carnage when Lashley meets The Miz for the WWE Championship on Monday Night Raw next week.
“Let me ask you, would you ask Godzilla how confident he is about whether or not he can destroy Tokyo?,” MVP started. “You can call the defense force, you can call whoever you want, but I think the best thing to do would be to call FEMA because the only thing… the only thing that’s gonna happen is absolute carnage.”
MVP added, “I reminded Bobby Lashley a long time ago what he’s capable of, and who he was, and now he remembers. He’s no longer withholding that beast inside of him. It’s on display for the world to see and Miz will feel the wrath, and Bobby Lashley will reclaim his position at the top of the food chain as WWE Champion.”
In addition to the post-Raw interview with Schreiber, Lashley took to social media to post a tweet commenting about next week’s showdown against The Miz for the WWE Championship being “16 years in the making.”
