Current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley recently interviewed with The Denver Post, and spoke about winning the title. Lashley, who defeated former WWE Champion The Miz in a Lumberjack Match to earn title, shared his feelings about winning the most coveted prize in the company. Bobby told the post:
“It is surreal, man. It is probably one of the greatest moments in my athletic career … It’s the legacy of my career. It took years and years and years in professional wrestling and years and years in the sport of wrestling. To finally hold up that title … when I wasn’t the chosen one, but I was one that was chosen.”
The Chief Hurt Officer of The Hurt Business continued to talk about the WWE Championship, and discussed being hopeful to defend the title at Wrestlemania: Bobby kept his words short and sweet, saying:
“I’m looking forward to putting on the show that steals the show.”
The former ECW, Intercontinetal, and United States Champion also shared his thoughts on a possible match with Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania. Many are speculating that Lashley and McIntyre will meet at the show, and when asked for his opinion on the possible match, the WWE Champion said:
“If Drew is the man, it would be my honor to battle with Drew. And I can’t wait to because he’s in the same mindframe as me. He wants to do whatever he can to make this the best show it could possibly be and he is ready to fight. And he is tough as they come.”
