Add Booker T to the list of respected wrestlers and personalities in the pro wrestling business that have been openly critical of the decision made by All Elite Wrestling to sign aging veteran WWE legends Paul Wight and Christian Cage.
During a recent installment of his Hall Of Fame podcast on ESPN Radio, the two-time WWE Hall Of Fame legend questioned the move made on the part of AEW to acquire those two particular talents.
As he explained while talking about the subject on his popular pro wrestling podcast, it gives the impression to the fans that AEW feels like a “revamp of WCW” in terms of bringing in established names from the past and immediately featuring them in the top spots.
Featured below is an excerpt from the episode where Booker T sounds off on AEW signing Paul Wight and Christian Cage.
“Do you think this is the right move for AEW? Right now it seems like they’re pulling a revamp of WCW. As far as signing veteran talent. Guys well past their better years of their careers. Guys that perhaps the young guys can take either one or two ways; that these guys are here to help us or these guys are here to take our spot.”
