Another superstar looks to be exiting WWE and it is happening soon.

PWInsider.com reported that Santos Escobar will be leaving WWE as of midnight today unless there is a last minute breakthrough which has the two sides agreeing to a new contract.

It is believed that Escobar’s contract with WWE is simply expiring at midnight (as opposed to a release or a cut) which would mean he would immediately become a free-agent with no non-compete clause in effect, essentially allowing him to wrestle, appear or sign for any other promotion as he wishes.

It is also reported that WWE made efforts to retain Escobar’s service, including a higher contract offer, but he turned it down for reasons he has not made public.
