Brian “Road Dogg” James Reportedly In New Role As Co-Lead Writer For WWE Smackdown

— Yesterday, a report emerged from pwinsiderelite.com and later confirmed by multiple other sources that WWE Hall of Famer Brian “Road Dogg” James has been annointed as the new Co-Lead Writer for Friday Night Smackdown. He will share those duties with John Swikata and the two will head up the blue brand creatively.

— This would be James’ second stint as a Smackdown leader writer as he fulfilled that position back between 2016 and 2019 before he voluntarily stepped down. He didn’t leave the company though, moving over to WWE’s NXT brand to work with his close friends Paul Levesque and Shawn Michaels but was released in early 2022. However, a few months later Vince McMahon “retired” and James returned very soon thereafter working on the live events team since.
