If you ask Chris Jericho, AEW FYTER FEST was the real ratings winner on Wednesday night, despite WWE NXT THE GREAT AMERICAN BASH drawing a higher overall viewership.
“Le Champion,” who sat in for commentary during night one of the two-week All Elite Wrestling extravaganza this week, also went to the ratings to back his claim, pointing out the significance of the key demographic that AEW beat WWE NXT in for the night on 7/1.
“Here’s a lesson about television ratings kids,” Jericho’s tweet addressing this week’s showdown between AEW and WWE NXT. “Last night AEW was NUMBER 6 in the 18-49 demo. To TV networks [and] advertisers it’s the ONLY number that matters, and we were up 31% in that area!”
The leader of the Inner Circle concluded his tweet by then declaring victory on behalf of AEW for this week’s edition of the Wednesday Night Wars.
“So once again AEW Dynamite is the REAL winner in the [Wednesday] night ratings war!” his tweet stated.
