Following the surprise return of Brock Lesnar, who ended up winning the Money in the Bank contract, former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho took a shot at the booking decision.
The current All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star mocked the choice made by WWE at Sunday night’s PPV to have Lesnar win the briefcase that earns him the right at a WWE Championship shot at a time and place of his choosing. Jericho joked about how the entire idea behind the match, which is a match concept that he actually came up with and pitched to WWE that became an entire pay-per-view event and an annual tradition in the company, is to help build an up-and-coming star or establish a mid-card performer as a potential next top guy.
“Awesome to see [Brock Lesnar] win the [Money In The Bank] match,” wrote Jericho via his official Twitter page on Sunday night. “Even though he wasn’t officially entered!”
Jericho added, “Brock is the future of the biz and this perfect example of genius booking shows why [WWE] will remain on top FOREVER! #GoBrockGo.”
