CM Punk Comments Lead to Major Backstage Heat & Confrontation Following AEW All Out

— Following his critical comments towards Colt Cabana, Hangman Adam Page as well as AEW EVPs, CM Punk appears to have generated a significant amount of backstage heat from his fellow talent, according to a report from fightfulselect.com. In case you missed it, after going after Cabana, Punk said that Page went into business for himself and that the EVPs leaked info implying that he was behind Cabana’s removal from the AEW roster.

— After the media scrum in which Punk went off, talent reached out and noted that EVPs Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were “extremely pissed off”, with one person claiming that they were threatening “to walk” over the comments. One of the Young Bucks reportedly told someone not in AEW that the frustrations surrounding Punk were legitimate. Neither Omega or the Bucks ended up at the media scrum, though some believe they were scheduled at one point but plans changed after Punk’s rant. AEW CEO Tony Khan was there throughout the scrum. While this could all end up being a work or be played into a storyline, the fightful report states that talent that spoke to them were under the impression it was for real and either way, the issues between Punk and Cabana and Punk and Page are already known to be true.

— The report went on to bring up rumors of a confrontation backstage between Punk, Ace Steel and The Elite in the early hours of this morning, however, it remains to be seen the severity of this incident or even if it’s true. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez confirmed the confrontation, describing it as a “melee” in which at least one security guard had to be summoned.
