The main event has been announced for the fourth annual Joey Janela Spring Break event scheduled as part of “The Collective 2020” special lineup of independent pro wrestling events promoted by Game-Changer Wrestling (GCW).
Headlining Joey Janela Spring Break 4 will be a one-on-one battle pitting All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela against one-half of the most legendary tag-teams in pro wrestling history, Ricky Morton of the WWE Hall Of Fame duo — The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express.
Janela confirmed the news in a video announcement released via his official Twitter page on Tuesday.
“Sometimes you gotta end the ones they idolized [and] adored,” wrote Janela as the accompanying caption that was posted with the aforementioned Joey Janela Spring Break 4 promotional trailer.
Quick to respond on his own Twitter page was Ricky Morton, as the pro wrestling legend replied to “The Bad Boy” by sharing the popular old expression to “be careful what you wish for.”
“Damn right, son,” Morton replied. “Be careful what you wish for.”
In an additional tweet, Morton would go on to post another comment about the announcement of his match against Janela in the main event of the GCW-promoted show scheduled as part of “The Collective 2020” lineup of events.
“For my 64th birthday, I get to wrestle Joey Janela for the biggest independent wrestling scene Game-Changer Wrestling (GCW),” Morton wrote. “Wow, just wow.”
The official Twitter feed for the Game-Changer Wrestling promotion also joined in on the social media buzz the Joey Janela Spring Break 4 event is already garnering, as they posted their own comments on the official GCW Twitter page on Tuesday to add to the hype for the Joey Janela vs. Ricky Morton main event.
“For Spring Break’s 4th Birthday, we get to welcome one of the greatest wrestling legends of all time Ricky Morton back to GCW,” the tweet shared via the official GCW Twitter feed read. “See ya in Indy Ricky!”
