The first pay-per-view event for All Elite Wrestling was a success, as the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois was 100-percent sold out for AEW Revolution on Saturday, February 29th.
The show ended with a bang, as Jon Moxley defeated Chris Jericho to become the new AEW World Heavyweight Champion, closing out the show with an emotional celebration and post-match promo.
Things got started with some strong momentum as well, as Colt Cabana made a surprise appearance in a post-match segment on the “Buy-In” pre-show after The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) defeated former AEW World Tag-Team Champions SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) and continued to attack the duo after scoring the victory.
Cabana, a decorated independent pro wrestler with a cult-like fan-following and the host of the popular “Art of Wrestling” podcast, has officially signed a contract to join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The wrestling veteran has previously appeared as guest commentator on a past episode of AEW Dark.
Cabana has signed to work as a talent on multiple levels with the company — including opportunities to wrestle, do commentary and work behind-the-scenes in a producer / agent role — however he is not under an exclusive AEW contract, and will still be able to work outside dates with other pro wrestling promotions.
