— After a multi-year absence, a familiar face is set to return to TNA in the coming weeks. PWInsider.com is reporting that former Impact champion Tessa Blanchard will be signing with TNA after last wrestling for the promotion four years ago. She apparently flew into Atlanta yesterday and is scheduled to be involved at TNA Final Resolution both at the PPV tonight and the upcoming TV tapings.

— While nothing is confirmed, the backstage word is that Blanchard will initially work with Jordynne Grace, who is scheduled to face Rosemary tonight. Interestingly Grace’s deal with TNA is set to expire in early 2025 so the direction of a potential storyline is still far from clear.

— Blanchard was released from TNA back in 2020 after a tumultuous relationship where her contract was set to expire heading into the Slammiversary 2020 PPV. With it being in the middle of the COVID pandemic, Blanchard was at home in Mexico and TNA/Impact were looking to extend her contract due to the inactivity if only to get her back to drop the title she was carrying. The two sides could not get on the same page and the promotion terminated the relationship and released her from contract, while stripping her of the title. Of course, at the time, Impact was headed by Scott D’Amore and with new leadership in place and D’Amore gone, it increased the chances of her returning to the company.

— Blanchard is a third generation star, the grand-daughter of Joe Blanchard and the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard. She has also not been without controversy while previously in Impact, with allegations surfacing about inappropriate behavior towards other wrestlers, which she denied. One serious allegation accused her of using a racist slur backstage towards fellow talent La Rose Negra but it appears the two wrestlers have put that all behind them as of 2023, posing for a picture and La Rose Negra even tweeted a message alongside the pic about being patient and a good person.
