— At last month’s WWE Money in the Bank, there was a spot that took place during the Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins World Title match in which Rollins covered Priest for a near pinfall, but Priest never kicked out forcing the referee to simply stop the count for no apparent reason. The botched spot got so much attention that Triple H actually acknowledged it at the post-show presser, chalking it up to a human mistake, while others speculated that Priest simply forgot to kick out. The world champion addressed it with the NY Post, saying he didn’t want to get into anything medical but that it was personal.
“The idea that I forgot to kick out, that’s not a thing. That’s not a thing. We don’t forget to kick out. Twenty years in, I’m pretty sure there is some kind of muscle memory there. So me forgetting was not the case. There was nothing outside that was supposed to happen. It was a matter of there was a situation, but I’m OK. Everybody’s fine, the story continues.”
“It doesn’t affect anything. The show goes on and I think fans are very invested in everything that’s going on. The ones that matter knew the situation and nobody thought twice about it. It was, move on.”
