The next AEW Championship match will go down in two weeks on TNT.
During the AEW Double Or Nothing 2021 pay-per-view on Sunday night, Jungle Boy of Jurassic Express emerged victorious in the 21-man Casino Battle Royale.
The fan-favorite up-and-coming star in AEW last eliminated Christian Cage in the exciting bout, which also featured the AEW debut of former WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush, earning himself a future world championship opportunity.
Later in the show as the commentators were running down some announced match-ups for the post-Double Or Nothing edition of AEW Friday Night Dynamite this week on June 4, the Jungle Boy title opportunity date was revealed to be in two weeks, with the Jurassic Express member squaring off against current title-holder — Kenny Omega.
The Jungle Boy vs. Kenny Omega bout for the AEW Championship in two weeks likely means it will take place on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, unless the promotion pushes the show to Friday for the third week in a row due to the NBA Playoffs on TNT. If that is the case, the Jungle Boy-Omega title bout will take place on AEW Friday Night Dynamite on June 11, 2021.
