— Former WWE wrestler Odyssey Jones (real name Omari Palmer) was abruptly released from the company back in September of 2024 after allegations of domestic assault were filed against him. Jones was quiet for months, but re-surfaced earlier this month indicating that he filed an order of protection against his former partner and was pursuing further legal against her and so didn’t publicly reveal any further details. Now, his ex-partner has come forward elaborating on the incidents of abuse in an interview with Post Wrestling as well as in details that were filed in a police report.
— On May 23, 2024, she filed a report that alleged battery on May 17. She told officers at the time that Palmer because “extremely angry” after discovering that she had sent text messages to another man. She claimed that he threw items, grabbed her and slammed her down to the floor twice. Police took photos of bruises on her shoulders and legs as documentation, however, Palmer denied the allegations against her directly, but did admit that he threw objects around just not at her. He further claimed that neither party became physical with the other during the incident.
— The ex-partner also details incidents of abuse while the couple was on a Caribbean cruise after that took place after the May 17 incident – a trip that she claims she didn’t want to take.
I told him I saw where this was going and I was going to leave because things were not going to go good on the cruise. It was repeated behavior so I saw it coming. He told me to sit my ass down and calm down, that we were leaving the following morning for the trip.”
— She claims that once they were on the cruise, the abuse continued and Palmer destroyed and threw one of her phones into the sea while also causing her to get a concussion after he “bashed (her) against the walls in the cabin a few times because (she) was leaving the room.”
— Palmer’s filing of an order of protection against hi ex painted a different picture of what happened on the cruise. In his filing, Palmer claimed that his ex-partner became physically violent, accusing him of inappropriate interactions with another woman. He claims that she became “increasingly more irate and started punching, slapping and kicking” as he attempted to defend himself by “hugging her arms to her side.”
— Palmer’s filing claimed his ex-partner used physical violence, threats and harassments to cause him to fear for his safety. He detailed another account of an attack by her in December 2023 in a hotel and the court has granted him the protective order through January 2028 but without making a ruling of who is at fault. The ex-partner, who does not want to be identified, denies all his claims and believes Palmer was granted the order simply because she didn’t have legal representation where in Florida where it was filed as she doesn’t live there. She further stated that WWE conducted a separate, independent investigation into her claims and ultimately fired Palmer in September 2024 after contacting her to discuss the situation as part of their investigation. WWE of course has not commented in any way on the termination.
“He begged me to forgive him every time. It’s like two people live in one body. He put me through so much mental anguish. No one knows what happens behind closed doors. He would have violent outbursts and increasingly erratic frustration periods and take them out on me. I am no longer scared to speak up after he instilled fear in me for so long.”
“I used to feel bad for Omari and hoped he would change his erratic behavior and abusive ways towards me. He portrays [himself] to be someone else to the public, to his fans, to his parents. No one knows a lot of the things I’ve kept quiet and endured. I wanted to protect him and love him but it reached a point where enough was enough.”
