— This year’s WrestleMania 40 main event went through a flurry of changes upon the return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to WWE TV with the company pivoting from Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns to Rock vs. Reigns and then back to the original plan. It leaves open multiple possibilities for next year’s main event at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

— While it is obviously much too early to lock anything in, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported last week that at this point, the show is scheduled to feature Rhodes taking on The Rock. The report further suggested that this is actually The Rock’s idea and he envisioned pushing a bout where it would be the WWE Title vs. The People’s Title.

— The Observer did caution though that WWE sources have indicated that there is no guarantee that Rhodes will still be champion at that time, suggesting that is the source of the introduction of The People’s belt, and that with there being almost a year left until the event, there are so many different things that can change.
