It looks like “The Rated R Superstar” Edge suffered a torn triceps injury during “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” against Randy Orton at the WWE Backlash 2020 pay-per-view on Sunday night.
Some freeze-frame photos from “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” (see below) appear to confirm the reports making the rounds regarding Edge suffering a serious injury during his main event match against Randy Orton at the WWE Backlash 2020 pay-per-view.
Prior to the start of the WWE Backlash 2020 PPV on Sunday night, reports started making the rounds that claimed “The Rated-R Superstar” suffered a potential torn triceps during his heavily-anticipated showdown against “The Viper.”
As noted, the Edge vs. Orton match was actually taped the same day as the NXT TakeOver: In Your House live special event back on June 7th, one week prior to “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” airing during the WWE Backlash 2020 pay-per-view on June 14th.
During the filming of the Edge vs. Orton bout, the WWE Hall Of Fame legend suffered what is believed to be a torn triceps, and if true, the recovery time is believed to be approximately nine months, if surgery is required to repair the injury.
While neither WWE or Edge have yet to comment on rumors of the injury, some freeze-frame photos of Edge laid out on the mat in the ring during “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” at WWE Backlash 2020 on Sunday night appear to confirm that something indeed happened with his arm — around the triceps area — that resulted in some immediately visible bruising.
