As odd as it sounds, the WWE Universe and all of its’ fans may very well have All Elite Wrestling to thank for the recent surprise return of Adam “Edge” Copeland, according to the latest reports making the rounds.
WWE began setting the wheels in motion for an Edge return last summer when AEW made him an offer to wrestle a few matches per year.
“The Rated-R Superstar” took that offer, which he said was $3 million per year, to WWE and said that he was likely going to sign and start with AEW once they debuted on TV in October.
Essentially his strategy worked as WWE gave him the same $3 million deal – one of the highest in the company’s history – for a reported three years.
There were other reports that his deal with WWE was for five matches and 25 appearances on television per year, however the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com refutes the claim and insists that the WWE Hall Of Famer will be wrestling and appearing more than that.
