Jay Lethal

Eric Bischoff Sounds Off On TNA Releasing Jay Lethal 10 Years Ago

If you ask Eric Bischoff, a mistake was made by IMPACT Wrestling when they decided to release Jay Lethal back in 2011.

During a recent installment of his 83 Weeks podcast, the former WWE, WCW and TNA Wrestling executive reflected on the TNA Sacrifice 2011 pay-per-view and the decision made by the promotion at the time to cut Lethal from the roster.

Featured below is an excerpt from the episode where the longtime pro wrestling personality touches on this particular topic.

“I don’t, and I don’t get it because everybody loved Jay. The people that worked with Jay loved Jay. The audience loved Jay. I’ll speak for myself. I’ll speak for Hulk Hogan. We loved Jay. I don’t know anybody that didn’t think highly of him, first as a person, and secondly, as a professional, because he was great at both. I was really stunned when they let him go and I don’t know why. I wasn’t involved in the decision.”
