On June 2nd, 2021, former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman received his release from the promotion, weeks after main eventing Wrestlemania Backlash. “The Monster Among Men” also appeared in advertisements for WWE's upcoming return to the road.

Earlier this week, Strowman’s former Wyatt Family stablemate Erick Rowan, aka Erick Redbeard, spoke with SK Wrestling's UnSKripted. During the interview, Redbeard stated that Braun’s release is proof that nothing is a guarantee in life, telling listeners:

"You know, a year ago, I was in the same position. That's what you get when you sign that big-money contract. It's not guaranteed money, man! (laughs). Nothing in this world is guaranteed. Just get back on, just get back on the horse and keep moving on, man.”

Redbeard received his release from WWE in 2020, after being heavily featured in a feud with Roman Reigns.
