WWE and FOX are set to make a significant change to the announce team for SmackDown LIVE when the show debuts on the network in October.
Instead of the typical three-person announce booth, WWE will be returning to a two-person team for not only the weekly blue brand show, but apparently all of the WWE brands will be affected by the change.
This, of course, means that WWE will also be applying the adjustment from a three-person announce team to a two-person team for RAW and possibly NXT TV on USA Network as well.
The news was reported this week by the @WrestleVotes Twitter page, which has broken a number of WWE and AEW stories in the past.
It's worth noting, however, that our co-founder here at eWrestling.com, Rajah Kumar (@RajahNews) actually first broke this story way back in March, noting that FOX was pushing for a two-person announce booth when the show moves to their network in October.
"As per a source with the company, when SmackDown LIVE moves to FOX later this year, the broadcast station wants some changes to the program," wrote Rajah on our affiliate / partner website, Rajah.com, when originally breaking the news over six months ago. "Specifically, FOX is looking to move away from WWE's current three person commentating booth to a two-[person] booth instead."

For three-articles worth of backstage news and notes coming out of this week's WWE SmackDown LIVE / 205 Live taping at Madison Square Garden in New York City from Tuesday night, September 10th, read the following three articles right here at eWrestling.com:

* Backstage SD! News (Pt. 2): Owens/AEW, CZW World Champ

Hearing that significant changes are coming to the commentary teams once the SD to FOX move happens in a few weeks. All shows will be impacted, including RAW. A source has said the return of the 2 man booth is coming.
