WWE Smackdown brand referee Jessica Carr wrestled in a match during an exhibition show for the NIL tryout at the WWE Performance Center earlier this month. Carr revealed before the match that she was done being “just a ref” and was interested in trying out as a wrestler again.

The feedback for her work as a referee and talent has been mixed. According to an ewrestling.com source, the general consensus – at least in the past – was that she wasn’t performing ideally as an official as several talent had approached management and requested that she not work their matches. In terms of her potential as an in-ring talent, it was believed that she didn’t really have the ability that the company was looking for in a performer.
