First-Ever AEW Women’s Champion To Be Crowned On AEW On TNT Debut On 10/2

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) continues to churn out breaking news this week.

In addition to announcing the debut of their weekly, live two-hour series on TNT, which kicks off with the inaugural episode at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday October 2nd from 8-10pm Eastern Time, as well as two main events for the first show, AEW has made another big announcement regarding the AEW On TNT premiere show.

The promotion announced via Sports Illustrated’s official website that they will crown their first-ever AEW Women’s Champion on the debut episode of AEW On TNT on 10/2.

“For many female wrestlers, the opportunity to fight for the title represents the crowning achievement of their careers,” said Brandi Rhodes to the Sports Illustrated website. “The AEW women’s championship will be the cornerstone of the women’s division.”

She added, “The championship will be treated with the utmost respect and prestige. We hope to inspire future female wrestlers to dream of holding such a meaningful title.”
