Retired wrestling legend Gail Kim caused some controversy recently after making some comments towards AEW Women’s Champion Riho.

Kim stated on X that she felt “uncomfortable” while watching previous matches of Riho due to questionable camera work given that Riho was dressed like a “very little girl” and that it felt “improper” due to the fact she looks underage. When challenged by fans, not only doubled down but stated that she felt as if Riho’s lack of size made her competitiveness in the women’s division with larger women unrealistic.

AEW’s Kenny Omega took notice and while not indicating that it was targeted towards Kim, made an obvious reference to her comments stating: “Another day and another ‘legend’ doing the splits on it for the yearly TKO gift basket…” and Kim responded with “If you’re trying to beat around the bush and misinterpret things like the rest of the yahoos, let me clarify that you are wrong.”

Speaking on the Huge Pop podcast, Kim addressed Omega’s comments feeling that it was “derogatory” towards her:

“Even what he said though, was very derogatory. Again, he was probably reading things online and believing the AEW fans who twisted all the messaging, in my opinion, I don’t know. Maybe he did read my original answer. But, to say I do the splits, I didn’t even know what that meant at first. I’m like, ‘What do you mean I do the splits for TKO?’ I’m like, ‘What is he talking about?”
