WWE has seen a few wrestlers from the past come back including Nikki Bella and AJ Styles and now another top female wrestler looks to be getting the urge to step back into the ring too.
Former AEW wrestler Saraya, who also wrestled in WWE as Paige, recently spoke to the Toronto Sun in an interview released today where she indicated that she misses being in the ring and is starting “to get the bug for it again.” Saraya added that her plan is to resume training for a return in January with her goal being to be a better wrestler in 2026 than she was even during her prime in NXT many years ago. She further shared that one option available to her would be to train with her friend Natalya at the Dungeon in Florida.
“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of, you know, dip my toe into the outside of wrestling world. And it’s been so wonderful and I have loved it and I have enjoyed it. But, you know…once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it. I am starting to get the bug for it again. Because I went through a stage where I kind of, like, fell out of love with it for a second. And I’m just like, ‘I need to take a break from it.’ And that was the whole goal, you know?”
“But I’ve just found, like, this new love for it again. And I’ve found this new passion for it again. I’m going to get into training in January and we’ll see where that takes me, you know. Because I feel like I do, if I was to ever come back, not saying I am, but if I was to ever come back, I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was wrestling back when I was in NXT. So that’s my goal.”
“I’ve actually asked Nattie a few times, she wants me to go down to the Dungeon and stuff in Florida. I was like ‘absolutely’. I miss it. I love it. I think the percentage of me going back is a lot higher now, you know? But we’ll see where it goes. We’ll see where it goes. Who knows what will happen?”
Since leaving AEW earlier this year, Saraya has focused her attention on other endeavours such as her memoir and launching her podcast “Rulebreakers” but has shown interest in returning to wrestling, specifically WWE.
