Veteran WWE wrestler Sheamus was given a notice of release from the company back in July and officially became a free agent earlier today, October 1, after the 90-day notice period expired.
The prevailing assumption has been that once he is free and clear of his WWE deal, Sheamus would be drawing strong interest from AEW and likely headed there and a new report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select provides further clarity on that situation.
According to their report, there is expected to be “interest” from AEW in bringing in Sheamus and there has been support for that move from within the AEW locker room as well with a handful of talent in favor of seeing the Irish star join the promotion.
