This weekend, four wrestlers advanced to the quarterfinals of this year’s WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, as first round matches took place at the Download Festival in Derby, England.
Zack Gibson defeated Amir Jordan, Flash Morgan Webster defeated James Drake, Travis Banks defeated El Ligero and Ashton Smith defeated Joseph Conners at the NXT events held as part of the Download Festival.
The four join Jack Gallagher in the quarterfinals, as Gallagher advanced when he defeated Drew Gulak during a set of NXT television tapings last month.
With those matches now in the books, a couple of actual quarterfinal pairings are also known, as Gibson vs. Gallagher and Banks vs. Smith are set on one side. The remaining first round matches will take place at the Download Festival in the next few days.
