During a conference call related to the FOX Upfronts event, FOX Sports CEO Eric Shanks spoke about WWE joining the Network on Friday nights in their prime time slot starting in October.
As Shanks explained, WWE is adding SmackDown Live to the FOX network at “clearly their strongest part of the year.”
“The WWE joins our schedule at clearly our strongest part of the year, when FOX has the highest circulation of any network on television,” said Shanks during the conference call on Monday morning. “Being able to have that Thursday through Sunday circulation, it has to have a positive impact on the rest of the week.”
Shanks concluded, “There’s just no question about it.”
WWE SmackDown Live moves from the USA Network to Friday nights on FOX starting on Friday, October 18th.
