— Actor and former WWE creative writer Freddie Prinze Jr. revealed on his podcast this week that he extended an offer to free agent Bray Wyatt, but conceded that it doesn’t look like Wyatt will accept it. Despite that roadblock, Prinze Jr. said he is forging ahead with plans to launch is new promotion and will look for a new central figure if he isn’t able to sign Bray and he has stated that his timeline is in the 18-month range.
“Financially, I wouldn’t be able to compete with WWE, but I put other things in there that are more important to Bray. I don’t think I’m going to get it as the weeks go on, but we’ll see. I have a finished draft, a finished script. I have two producers that are both interested in wanting to partner up with me on this. I don’t have a TV deal in place but I have…very close to that.”
— Wyatt is largely expected to be headed back to WWE, perhaps as early as Saturday’s Extreme Rules, where he is believed to be revealed as the figure behind the recent QR codes and White Rabbit teases that have appeared on WWE programming. Interestingly, he would be the second wrestler that Prinze Jr. has targeted as one of his lead stars who he could potentially lose to WWE as he had planned to sign and make Karrion Kross his first champion.
