Former WWE creative team writer Freddie Prinze Jr. recently took to an episode of his “Wrestling with Freddie” podcast from iHeart Media’s My Cultura Network and spoke about a number of topics, including how WWE Chairman Vince McMahon would prank the USA Network in the 2011 WWE Draft by sending John Cena to Friday Night SmackDown from Monday Night RAW.
Freddie Prinze Jr. said:
“Vince would mess with them.” “On the draft one year he drafted John Cena, which was the only ratings that Monday Night Raw would get, he drafted him to Friday Night SmackDown, and USA freaked out and started calling.”
Freddie Prinze Jr. also spoke about how Vince only did that to screw with the USA Network executives.
Freddie Prinze Jr. said:
“It delegitimizes the entire draft process that they do every year.” “Like that could actually happen ‘No, we want him, no we want him,’ just every draft pick, and he did it just to screw with the people.”
