Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for Oct. 7, 2022

Matches Tonight: Four (approx. 42.5 minutes)
  • Singles Match: Ricochet vs Solo Sikoa. Sikoa picked up the win with his newly named Finisher, the Spinning Sikoa. No, I didn’t give it that name. 8:26-8:35pm EST.
  • Tag Match: Xia Li & Sonya Deville vs Shotzi & Raquel Rodriguez. Squash match that saw Shotzi & Raquel pick up the win in about 90 seconds. 8:51-8:53pm EST.
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Bloodline (Sami Zayn & the Usos) vs the New Day & Braun Strowman. The New Day & Strowman picked up the win; the Bloodline saw more tension between Jey and Sami. 9:16-9:27pm EST.
  • Intercontinental Championship Main Event Match: Gunther/Sheamus II. Gunther retained despite having tapped out in the Cloverleaf (the ref’s back was turned due to the Brawling Brutes brawling with the brutes of IMPERIUM). 9:39-9:58pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • The Island of Relevancy Welcomes the Irrelevant: Roman Reigns came face-to-face with Logan Paul, his challenger at the upcoming Crown Jewel event. Highlight of the entire segment was Heyman insulting Logan & Jake Paul and Sami Zayn’s passionate defense of the Bloodline. The entrance took the first six minutes, FYI, and Logan Paul entered at 8:09 (when they began truly speaking). 8:02-8:20pm EST.
  • Discord in the Bloodline: Sami Zayn and Jey Uso continued the disintegration of their relationship as the hot-headed Jey Uso continued to verbally assault Sami, to the point it cost the Bloodline their six-man match.
  • Name Change: RIP Max Dupri. Long live LA KNIGHT!
  • Upside-down Kross: Karrion Kross and Scarlett made their way out to the ring only for Drew McIntyre to beat the crap out of him before he could do anything. McIntyre made a mistake of attaching the strap, leading to Kross beating the crap out of McIntyre in return. 9:02-9:08pm EST.
  • Debut/Return: Hit Row came out for a match around 8:45pm, but were attacked by the debuting Legado Del Fantasma. Note: Elektra Lopez was not present or mentioned; Zelina Vega, sporting a new look with long blonde hair and a new gimmick, was with the LDF faction.
  • Next Week on SmackDown:Sami Zayn vs Kofi Kingston. LA Knight vs mån.sôör w/ the Maximum Male Models.
  • Tomorrow Night: It’s Extreme Rules, so don’t forget! Also, the White Rabbit shit will be revealed/concluded during Extreme Rules.
