Recap by: Cory Strode, pwinsider.com
It’s Saturday night and AEW Collision is live from Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, PA. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Matt Menard, and Nigel McGuinness.
We start by running down tonight’s card and a video recap of the two Blood and Guts matches on Wednesday.
Death Riders (Pac, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta) vs. Jay Lethal, Tommy Billington, and Adam Priest
Before the match, Garcia attacks Menard at commentary and the medical staff help Menard off, and Jon Moxley takes his place.
When the bell rings, Priest works over Garcia after Lethal and Billington attack him as well. Pac tags in, as does Lethal, and Pac gets a hip toss. Yuta tags in and Lethal pulls him to his corner for Priest to tag in. Garcia gets a blind tag, but gets slammed by Priest. Billington tags in and he and Priest get a backdrop on Garcia. Billington slams Garcia and tags in Priest.
Yuta and Garcia work with Priest and Billington as we go to picture-in-picture. LOTS of quick tags, a single move and then another tag as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Pac is working over Billington as he’s been the babyface in peril through the break. The Death Riders run the endless clotheslines in the corner until Pac hits him with a tombstone piledriver for two. Lethal and Priest are knocked to the floor and the Death Riders go back to work on Billington. Billington finally gets a shotgun dropkick on Yuta and crawls to his corner, but Garcia knocks Lethal and Priest off the apron.
Billington finally gets the tag to Lethal, who cleans house. He ends the sequence with a figure four on Pac, but Garcia breaks it up. Lethal goes for a Lethal Injection on Pac, who shoves Priest into the way so that Priest is hit by it. That allows Pac to get the Brutalizer on Lethal, who has to tap out.
Winners: The Death Riders
Pac grabs a mic and says Darby Allin isn’t here tonight because of what he did to him at Blood and Guts. He says throwing Allin through a burning table was his masterpiece, and if Allin wants revenge, no problem. He’ll fight Allin at Full Gear. He’ll prove that a punk like Allin doesn’t belong in the same conversation with a competitor like him.
In the back, Lexi Nair is with Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher. Kyle says he is sick of hearing about Mark Briscoe and at Full Gear he will be put in his place for good, but tonight Briscoe has to deal with Mark Davis. Kyle then says Scorpio Sky may be good, but nothing is stopping the roll he is on.
Lexi is then with Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm, and Mina is not cleared to wrestle. Toni says you can do what you want to her, but when you touch the woman she loves, then you gain admission to a film with her and Mina beating the crap out of any slop tarts—anytime, anyplace—and don’t ask God for mercy, he is a big fan of their work.
Mark Briscoe vs. Mark Davis
I wonder if the crowd will cheer for Mark, the way they did for Kyle when it was O’Reilly vs. Fletcher.
They fight on the ramp before the bell. Davis rolls Briscoe into the ring and the bell rings. Briscoe hits a dropkick through the ropes and then hits a blockbuster from the ring apron. They brawl at ringside and Briscoe comes off the apron into a big punch from Davis. Davis drops Briscoe on the apron and then tosses him into the barricade. Davis rolls Briscoe in the ring and beats him down in the corner.
Briscoe escapes and climbs to the top, and Davis joins him there. They fight on top and Davis hits a superplex from the top for two as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Davis has dominated through the break. Davis gives a short-arm chop while holding Briscoe’s arm. When Briscoe gets up, Davis does it again. Briscoe stands up again, and this time does not go down. Briscoe fires up and lays in chops of his own. Briscoe gets a shoulder tackle and then a forearm, knocking Davis down. They trade chops in the middle of the ring. Davis and Briscoe go at each other as they try to run the ropes, but Briscoe gets a Pele kick.
Davis picks up Briscoe, who turns it into a forward roll for two. Briscoe gets a pump kick and a suplex before going to the top. Briscoe hits a Froggy Bow, but Davis gets a foot up and then gets a running clothesline for two. Davis hits a type of piledriver and Briscoe rolls out of the ring. Davis gets a hockey check on Briscoe. Davis rolls Briscoe into the ring and then tosses a chair into the ring.
Briscoe uses the chair for a dive onto Davis on the floor. Briscoe goes to the top and misses a Froggy Bow on Davis, and when he goes to the top again, Davis nails him. Briscoe knocks Davis off the top and hits Froggy Bow for the pin and the win.
Winner: Mark Briscoe
Christopher Daniels is with Scorpio Sky and they talk about how it’s time for him to get the TNT Championship back.
In the back, Josh Alexander has an ankle lock on Michael Nakazawa backstage as he challenges Omega for a match on Dynamite.
It’s time for the MxM TV Casting Call Challenge with Mansoor, Mason Madden, Johnny TV, and Taya Valkyrie.
Tay Melo vs. Taya Valkyrie
Melo gives a pump kick as the bell rings and works over Taya in the corner. Tay whips Taya into the corner where they go back and forth. Taya gets a sliding suplex and tries to dominate Tay, but gets tossed into the steel steps. MxM TV helps Taya up and Tay dives onto all of them. Tay gives pump kicks to everyone and then rolls Taya in the ring and hits the GTS for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tay Melo
Marina Shafir beats down Tay after the match, but this brings out Toni Storm who runs through MxM TV and hits a shotgun dropkick and a Storm Zero on Shafir.
We get a hype video for Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe at Full Gear next week.
Kyle Fletcher (TNT Champion) vs. Scorpio Sky
Sky calls for the code of honor and Kyle mocks him for it. They lock up and Kyle forces them to the corner where they break clean. They lock up again and Sky turns it into armbars. Sky picks the leg and Kyle goes to the ropes for a break. They lock up again and Sky forces them to the corner and they break a bit less clean. Kyle rolls to the floor for a break.
Sky grabs Kyle’s ring cape and mocks him with it. Kyle returns to the ring and they run the ropes when Sky grabs the foot and gets another armbar on Kyle. They go corner to corner and Sky’s leg gives out. When Kyle comes over, Sky grabs him for a roll-up for two and the leg injury was a ruse. Kyle loses his temper and beats Sky down to the mat, but runs into a flying back elbow. Kyle bails to the floor again, but this time Sky follows him and keeps up the attack. Kyle slams Sky on the apron, and then Kyle boots Christopher Daniels at ringside.
Kyle and Sky throw hands until Sky whips Kyle into the ring steps and we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Kyle has taken down Sky with a rear chinlock in the middle of the ring. Kyle lets go and works over Sky with chops and kicks. Sky goes to the second rope for a leaping DDT for two.
They throw hands back and forth and Kyle gets a big boot with a leg drop, but Sky grabs a single-leg crab. Kyle gets to the ropes for a break. Kyle gets a superkick from the corner and then a big scoop slam. Kyle gets a running kick followed by the sheer drop brainbuster for the pin and the win.
Winner and still TNT Champion: Kyle Fletcher
Mark Davis hits the ring to beat down Sky, but Top Flight and Mark Briscoe hit the ring to drive him and Kyle Fletcher off.
Briscoe grabs a mic and says he will not be stopped. He goes over his victories against Kyle and Mark Davis. He then tells Kyle to shine up that title belt for him and give it lots of love because in one week, it is coming home with him.
Kyle says next week he will cement his legacy as the best TNT Champion of all time and Briscoe will have to join the Don Callis Family.
We get a hype video for the $200,000 four-way tag team match at the Tailgate Brawl next week, with the Outrunners, The Bang Bang Gang, Big Bill and Bryan Keith, and Max Caster and Anthony Bowens.
We then get a hype video for Kris Statlander vs. Mercedes Moné at Full Gear.
Alex Windsor and Riho vs. The Already In The Ring Hyan and Maya World
Gotta be honest, I had completely forgotten about Alex Windsor. She and Riho are a tag team for the tournament and they will be facing Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, so they get a nice spotlight in this match tonight. They win a match that goes through a commercial break with a combination clothesline crucifix driver.
Winners: Alex Windsor and Riho
Hyan and Maya World got a lot of offense during the break and looked good.
Toni and Mina address them from backstage and apologize in advance for ripping off their heads and crapping in their handbags in their upcoming match because they are on the road to revenge.
We are then shown comments after Blood and Guts from Kyle O’Reilly. He talks about how he was injured by Mox years ago and he had to fight to come back to wrestling. He has a submission over Mox and challenges him to a match anywhere, anytime.
At commentary, Mox gets pissed and grabs a mic and hits the ring as the fans chant “You tapped out.” He says Kyle is nothing like him and his team is not built like his team. He says he knows Kyle can’t do it again, and he knows where he can find Mox.
Mox leaves commentary and leaves the arena.
Lexi Nair is with Tay Melo and Tay tells Toni Storm not to help her unless she asks for it. And while Marina Shafir is the Problem, she is the Solution.
Sammy Guevara, Rush, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler vs. Juice Robinson, Bandido, Speedball Mike Bailey, and Kevin Knight
