It appears that Gable Steveson’s future in WWE and NXT is currently uncertain, and fans should not expect to see him in NXT anytime soon. After his debut victory over Baron Corbin at WWE NXT Great American Bash 2023 received a negative reception, questions arose about his status in the company.

Notably, Steveson withdrew from this month’s Senior World Championships in amateur wrestling. Participation in such tournaments requires WWE approval, and his withdrawal sparked speculation that WWE might have prevented him from competing.

This development has also led to fan speculation that WWE might not permit Steveson to compete for his third NCAA championship or participate in the 2024 Olympics.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter on F4WOnline.com, Dave Meltzer reported that “another interesting note is that Steveson has been officially removed from the NXT roster.” He went on to say, “I don’t know what that means past that it’s happened, and there are no plans for him in NXT at this moment.”
