It was reported this week that long time WWE employee Gerald Brisco was released by the company as they continue with their cost-cutting measures, however the legendary promotional talent scout is disputing the report — sort of.
Brisco, who has been with WWE since 1984, tweeted to clarify that he was not “released” but rather “furloughed” which leaves open the possibility that he will be brought back if and when the situation changes.
This would be consistent with WWE’s moves up to this point where they have released talent/wrestlers but furloughed all the backstage agents and producers.
