— Former WWE Women’s champion Alexa Bliss was believed to be one of three top female stars set to return in the early part of 2025 with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair the others. However, it appears that Bliss’ return is no longer imminent and there could be some backstage dynamics at play as the reason.

— PWInsiderelite.com reports that WWE’s creative team has been told to put all of Bliss’ plans “on hold indefinitely” after initially scripting her to return a couple of weeks ago at the Raw in San Jose, CA. At the time, a storyline was in place for her return that would have tied into the Wyatt Sicks stable but right before the show, those ideas were not only dropped but the Wyatt Sicks themselves were moved over to the Smackdown brand. The report adds that any future creative for the Wyatts would be completely independent of Bliss.

— It is unclear why plans for Bliss’ return have been scrapped for the time being but according to one source, there could be a contract issue that would be the reason though that is far from confirmed and other sources indicated they were not aware of what the problem could be. Bliss remains under contract from an older contract prior to her ongoing absence that began in 2023 so she would not only have time remaining on that deal, but more than likely, WWE probably tacked on additional length due to being inactive.

— Furthermore, while it may seem like WWE canceled plans of a return for Bliss at Raw in favor of a surprise return at Royal Rumble, pwinsider reported that is not the reason as she is also not factored into being one of the entrants in the Rumble and there have been no pitches or discussions as of this time in having her be included in that match.

— Bliss last wrestled for WWE almost two years ago at the 2023 Royal Rumble, losing to Bianca Belair. She then gave birth to a baby while also battling a number of health related issues but popped up in the second half of 2023 declaring that she was healthy and awaiting direction from WWE creative on when to return. It was believed that she would be back in time for the WrestleMania buildup which in theory begins at the Royal Rumble but all of that is now up in the air.
