R-Truth to host new WWE Network original series

Huge WWE News Update On R-Truth’s Return: Truth Initially Ignored WWE’s Calls, Reaction To Rumors Of It Being A Work

Not even a week after announcing that he had been “released” by WWE, Ron “R-Truth” Killings is back on TV re-appearing at Money in the Bank in a pivotal role.

Technically, Killings never actually left WWE since after his announcement, company sources clarified that he wasn’t let go but rather was informed that his contract would not be renewed nor would there be any negotiations on a new deal. As of this week, he was believed to have several weeks remaining on his agreement so was actually still with the promotion.

After “returning” at Money in the Bank, multiple sources have reported that WWE and Killings have agreed to a new deal that replaces his existing one and will keep him signed to WWE for its duration. Truth’s son on social media seemingly confirmed this in his Instagram Stories by captioning it with “congrats on the new deal Dad.”

One conspiracy theory that is making its rounds is that the whole release/exit story was a work and that R-Truth was always going to remain with WWE, being fueled even further by Triple H’s comments after Money in the Bank when he implied that the whole thing was “part of the show.” However, sources within WWE have once again indicated this to be false and fightfulselect.com noted that when the news went public, there were “many tears” related to Killing’s expected departure and he was bombarded with phone calls and texts from his peers.

That story adds that Killings himself was “shocked and kind of disgusted” at the way his departure went down as a talent relations employee simply informed him of the news in a “very cold and impersonal way” rather than WWE having someone higher up or even “top brass” relay their decision to let him become a free agent. It apparently bothered Killings so much that he ignored many of WWE’s advances during the past week to discuss bringing him back and it was only when WWE President Nick Khan took over that Killings agreed to talk and work out a new deal.

On the topic of whether Truth would purposely work his fellow wrestlers, one talent who has worked with him for over a decade stated to fightful that “Ronnie wouldn’t do that. If he had to maintain a work like that, he’d just ask us not to say anything. He would never lie to us about that. I think that Paul (Levesque) also knows that lying to or working the locker room is horrible taste.”

In response to Triple H’s claim suggesting that Truth’s exit and re-appearance was part of the show, many wrestlers disagreed with this and Truth’s son also was on social and responded to HHH’s comments with the phrase “stop the cap” while Truth himself also replied on X that it was not a work. One veteran wrestler noted “I can tell Hunter doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like the fans hijacking creative” which would explain his response as a way to push the agenda that the whole angle was within WWE’s control. To no one’s surprise, the mood backstage turned very positive when Truth appeared at Money in the Bank with everyone excited that he was back.
