IMPACT Wrestling On AXS TV Recap (01/19): Pit Fight Match

IMPACT Wrestling recently held the latest episode of their flagship show, where the show’s main event saw “Speedball” Mike Bailey take on Kenny King in a Pit Fight Match.

– The Design (Kon and Angels) def. Yuya Uemura and Delirious in a Before The IMPACT Match. After the match, Deaner calls out Callihan and demands that he makes the right choice and that is to take out Delirious. Callihan then follows Deaner’s orders and hits Delirious with the Cactus Driver 97.

– New IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James makes her way down to the ring to kick off the show. Bully Ray then interrupts and tells Mickie James to leave, but Mickie stands her ground. Bully then calls himself the true “main event” of Hard To Kill and credits himself with selling out Center Stage in Atlanta. Bully then says that without him Josh Alexander would be a nobody. Mickie then fires back and says that if Bully wants her out of this ring, he needs to make her leave. Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans then make their way out as Steelz reminds Mickie that she can’t beat her. Evans then clobbers Mickie James, which leads to a two-on-one beatdown. Frankie Kazarian and Jordynne Grace then even the odds. IMPACT’s new Director of Authority Santino Marella is about to make a match when Ernest “The Cat” Miller arrives. Miller then gives Marella some advice, which leads to this huge match to kick off IMPACT.

– IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James, Jordynne Grace and Frankie Kazarian def. Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans and Bully Ray in a 6-Person Mixed Tag Team Match. After the match, the new #1 Contender for the Knockouts World Title Masha Slamovich makes her way down to the ring and issues a death warrant to Mickie James.

– We then head backstage, where Santino Marella informs Ernest “The Cat” Miller of his new match concept, the Golden Six Shooter in which Six former IMPACT World Champions will collide to determine who will challenge Josh Alexander for the IMPACT World Title at No Surrender and those participants are Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Rich Swann, Moose and Callihan. Steve Maclin then confronts Santino Marella for putting Rich Swann in the Golden Six Shooter after he defeated him at Hard To Kill. Marella then asks Dirty Dango for advice and Dango wants to step into the ring with Maclin tonight.

– Deonna Purrazzo def. Ashley D’Amboise in a Knockouts Division Singles Match.

– We then head backstage, where Gia Miller attempts to interview PCO following his shocking return and subsequent attack on Eddie Edwards at Hard To Kill. An unhinged PCO then scares her away.

– IMPACT X-Division Champion Trey Miguel then gives Ashley D’Amboise advice on how she can improve in the ring. An argument then breaks out as Mike Jackson comes to her defense. Mike Jackson then vows to teach Trey Miguel a lesson in respect when he challenges him for the X-Division Title next week.

– Killer Kelly def. Taylor Wilde in a Knockouts Division Singles Match.

– We then head backstage, where Callihan is struggling to come to terms with his actions from earlier tonight on BTI as step 3 comes next week and that is to win the Golden Six Shooter and become the new #1 Contender for the IMPACT World Title.

– Gisele Shaw then tells Santino Marella that she deserves another opportunity at the Knockouts World Tag Team Title against the Death Dollz, but the problem is nobody wants to be her partner.

– Steve Maclin def. Dirty Dango in a Singles Match.

– Gia Miller then interviews the Major Players after coming up short in the 4-Way Elimination Match for the IMPACT World Tag Team Titles at Hard To Kill. Miller reveals their upcoming match with Ace Austin and Chris Bey. Moose then interrupts and reminds both Matt Cardona and Brian Myers of their past issues with Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry. Cardona then vows to reclaim the Digital Media Title after taking care of Bullet Club next Thursday.

– Tommy Dreamer then has a sit-down interview with Busted Open Co-Host Dave LaGreca. Dave LaGreca interviews Tommy Dreamer about the ongoing issues with his former friend Bully Ray. LaGreca admits that it has been difficult to co-host Busted Open with both Dreamer and Bully. LaGreca then asks if their relationship can be repaired but Dreamer immediately turns down that proposition. Dreamer then says that he may lose a match, but he will never lose the war and he is about to go to war with Bully Ray.
