IMPACT Wrestling On AXS TV Recap (03/30): Josh Alexander vs. KENTA

IMPACT Wrestling recently held the latest episode of their flagship show, where the show’s main event saw IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander defend his IMPACT World Championship against KENTA.

– Brian Myers def. Jack Price in a Before The IMPACT Match.

– Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt welcome the IMPACT Wrestling fans to Anthem’s LA Live studio in Los Angeles, California. They run down the card for Multiverse United before being joined by Santino Marella. IMPACT’s Director of Authority then calls tonight’s bout between Hiroshi Tanahashi and “Speedball” Mike Bailey a dream match as we revisit NJPW Resurgence 2021 where Tanahashi went one-on-one with Lancer Archer for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.

– Gia Miller then catches up with Rocky Romero at the site of tonight’s Multiverse United as he prepares to compete in a 6-Way Scramble Match for Trey Miguel’s X-Division Championship.

– Hannifan, Rehwoldt and Marella then preview the NJPW STRONG Openweight Title Match between reigning NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion KENTA and #1 Contender Minoru Suzuki. Marella then gives the edge to KENTA, predicting that the champion will retain tonight.

– Former NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Fred Rosser then joins the desk before he competes in an 8-Man Tag Team Match later tonight featuring combustible elements from both IMPACT and NJPW.

– It is then announced that Jody Threat will arrive in IMPACT Wrestling next week.

– It is then revealed that the first-ever all-Knockouts cover edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated will be available digitally tomorrow and on newsstands April 18th.

– Miyu Yamashita def. Killer Kelly in a Knockouts Division Singles Match.

– Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are then joined by Tommy Dreamer, who looks back on the events following the Busted Open Match between himself and Bully Ray at Sacrifice, which features NHL legend Darren McCarty and IMPACT President Scott D’Amore.

– It will be IMPACT Wrestling vs. NJPW later tonight when Moose battles Jeff Cobb at Multiverse United and Tommy Dreamer predicts that Jeff Cobb will score the win, while Rehwoldt gives the advantage to Moose.

– Gia Miller then interviews Moose at the Globe Theater, who declares victory in his match against. Jeff Cobb.

– Josh Alexander (c) def. KENTA to retain his IMPACT World Championship. After the match, Scott D’Amore announces that Josh Alexander will relinquish the IMPACT World Title next Thursday on an all-new edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV. Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt then run down the card for Multiverse United: Only the STRONG Survive one more time as IMPACT Wrestling goes off the air.
