IMPACT Wrestling On AXS TV Recap (08/17): Rascalz vs. Swann And Callihan

IMPACT Wrestling recently held the latest episode of their flagship show, where the show’s main event saw The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) face Rich Swann and “The Death Machine” Sami Callihan in a #1 Contenders Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals Match.

Below are the results from the show, courtesy of IMPACTWrestling.com:

– Johnny Swinger def. Sheldon Jean in a Before The IMPACT Match.

– Before the opening match gets underway, it is revealed that Giulia will defend the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against Deonna Purrazzo, Gisele Shaw and Momo Kohgo this Sunday at Multiverse United 2.

– Deonna Purrazzo def. KiLynn King in a Knockouts Division Singles Match. After the match, we see that IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Trinity was watching on a monitor backstage.

– We head backstage where IMPACT Digital Media Champion Kenny King says he doesn’t see Johnny Swinger as a threat to his IMPACT Digital Media Title reign despite his victory over Sheldon Jean on BTI.

– IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Killer Kelly def. Jessicka and Savannah Evans in a Knockouts Division Triple Threat Match.

– After he was embarrassed by Jake Something last week, Dirty Dango has some choice words for the big man.

– Moose def. Kevin Knight in a Singles Match.

– We then head backstage, where after The Good Hands cost ABC their match in the #1 Contenders Tag Team Championship Tournament last week Santino Marella gives them a chance at revenge next week.

– Eric Young def. Kon via Disqualification in a Singles Match. After the match, Kon hits a thudding Chokeslam on Eric Young as Deaner follows up with the Antidote DDT onto the chair. The Design stands tall over a downed Eric Young.

– We are then treated to a new music video about IMPACT’s newest tag team Joe Hendry and Yuya Uemura.

– Tom Hannifan’s emotional sit-down interview with Crazzy Steve then continues. After Steve reveals a troubled family situation during his upbringing, Tom Hannifan asks what’s next for him. The interview will be concluded next week.

– Chris Sabin is then shown to be poised to dethrone Lio Rush as the IMPACT X-Division Champion. Chris Sabin challenges Samuray Del Sol to a match next week after Lio Rush attacked him before his scheduled debut last week.

– Bully Ray def. Black Taurus in a No Disqualifications Match. After the match, the lights go out as PCO confronts Bully in the ring. Bully chokeslams PCO through a table but it has no effect. PCO rises once again and chases Bully to the back.

– Eddie Edwards then provides a medical update on his wife, Alisha, after she was inadvertently struck with a kendo stick by Frankie Kazarian last week. Edwards says that Alisha will be fine but there was no way he would allow her to step foot into the IMPACT Zone tonight. Kazarian then confronts Edwards and suggests they go their separate ways so that nobody else gets caught in the crossfire. Edwards wants to finish things once and for all and Kazarian suggests they do where it all started, Killer Kowalski’s wrestling school in Boston.

– The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) def. Rich Swann and Sami Callihan in a #1 Contenders Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals Match. After the match, The Rascalz celebrate their victory as IMPACT Wrestling goes off the air.
