IMPACT Wrestling Results – (02/23/21)

Show Opening

As the March 2, 2021 edition of IMPACT Wrestling kicks off as the clock chimes 8:00 p.m. (Eastern TIme), we enter Skyway Studios Arena in Nashville, Tennessee as we are welcomed by tonight’s commentary team of D’Lo Brown and Matt Striker who are sitting at the announcer’s table to have an up-close and personal seat for tonight’s action. After a quick run down of the matches already advertised for this evening’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling, we officially start tonight’s action packed show!

We head to the ring as the first match-up of the evening is ready to get underway with the X-Division Championship number one contender Triple Threat Match featuring Ace Austin, Chris Bey, and Black Taurus.

X-Division Championship Number One Contender Triple Threat Match
Chris Bey vs Ace Austin vs Black Taurus

As we make are way to the ring for the tonight’s first match, we get the entrances for all three of tonight’s contenders for the Triple Threat Match to become the X-Division Championship number one contender! With all three competitors inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings as our first match of the evening is officially underway! To start things off, we see both Chris Bey and Ace Austin automatically joining forces as they decide to double team Taurus.

Taurus finally able to counter as he takes both Bey and Austin out! Taurus follows up with a Clothesline turning Bey inside out, then finishes with a Double Dropkick after Bey is sent to ringside by Taurus. Once again Bey and Austin look to double-team Taurus as they land a Double Dive on Taurus. Bey then follows up with an implant DDT for the cover! A kick out at two, and the match continues. Next we see Taurus head in for a Suplex, to no avail as Ace hits a Meteora off of the top turnbuckle. Taurus back to his feet, plows through Ace as he lands a Pop Up Samoan Drop!

Once again, Ace and Bey are able to join together to send Taurus over the top rope, pummeling down to the floor at ringside. We see Fulton stop Bey as he looks to hit his finisher. Instead Ace is able to land The Fold on Bey for the three count pin and win, earning him the number one contender spot in the X-Division Championship!

Winner: Ace Austin

After the Match

Commentary notes that Ace Austin is now the new number one contender for TJP’s X-Division Championship following tonight’s victory in the Triple Threat Match.

Quick Announcement

Before moving on to the next match-up, we head to commentary where we get a breakdown of tonight’s card. As that wraps up, we once again go back to the ring for the next match of the evening set to take place between Tenille Dashwood and Havok.

Tenille Dashwood (w/ Kaleb) vs Havok

We get the entrances for both Havok, and then Tenille Dashwood who is accompanied to the ring by Kaleb. With both competitors inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings as we begin the next match up of the evening. To start things off, Havok heads in at Tenille, cornering her into the ring post as she continues to power her into the turnbuckle. Tenille looking for a way out, lands an Elbow to the side of Havok’s head, followed by trapping her in the ropes. Next we see Tenille land a Neck-breaker for the cover and an early finish attempt. Havok kicks out at the two as we once again head to commercial break!

As we return from commercial break, we head back to the ring where the second match is still deep in action as Havok is taken to the canvas for a pin attempt. Havok is able to kick out and the match continues. Tenille once again takes Havok down to the canvas, where she proceeds to land several Back Elbows to the head of Havok. Once again Tenille heads in for the cover, to no avail as Havok successfully kicks out at the two. As the match continues, Havok is again taken off her feet where she is then choked with the bottom rope. Kaleb sees this as the perfect opportunity for a selfie! The match continues. Tenille allows Havok to her feet, only to apply a Sleeper.

Havok having had enough, hoists Tenille up and tosses her down to the mat! We then see an STO Back-breaker for yet another pin-fall attempt. Again, we see a kick out at the two! Havok with a Lariat on Tenille as she looks to gain control of the match-up. Another near fall off, but she gets her feet in the ropes. Finally, we see Kaleb at ringside as he distracts Havok as she looks for a Tombstone. She then misses a Running Leg Drop allowing Tenille to counter and finish with a Spotlight Kick for the three count pin and win!

Winner: Tenille Dashwood

After the Match

Immediately following the match, we see Nevaeh make her way out where she then proceeds to attack Kaleb. Nevaeh then lands a Hammer Lock DDT that sends Kaleb out of the ring!

Video Clip – Sami Callihan

Next we head into a video with Sami Callihan who is at the Wrestling Academy. We see Sami attack everyone in the gym and lay them out. Once everyone is down, Callihan then speaks with the trainer that trained Trey (who also runs the gym). Sami once again begins to lay folks out, including the teacher. He then recruits Sam Fletcher to join him before telling Trey that he’s in “good hands”. With that, we head to commercial break!

Swinger’s Casino

As we return from the commercial break, we are in Swinger’s Casino. TJP is playing the tables as Ace Austin enters with Madman Fulton. At this point Chris Bey enters the Casino where he proceeds to call Austin out. A match is booked by Swinger

Video Package – Violent By Design

At this point we head into a video package highlighting Violent By Design. We see Eric Young who is with Deaner, who Young points out “failed”, and as a result, he informs Deaner that he now has to accept the consequences. During the video we see where Eric punishes Deaner for failing him by having Joe Doering teach him a lesson and leaving him in a dark room as we head to commercial break!

Video Package – Moose

As we return from the commercial break, we are immediately sent into a video package highlighting Moose. Moose states that he will in fact fulfill his destiny and become the Impact Champion!

The Good Brothers & FinJuice vs XXXL & Reno Scum

Once the video package comes to an end, we once again head to the ring as we get prepared for the next match-up of the evening. We get ring entrances with The Good Brothers, FinJuice, XXXL, and Reno Scum respectively. With all the competitors inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell, the bell rings and the match-up is officially underway! To start things off in the match up, David and Luster run the ropes as David lands a Dropkick to Luster. At this point, Karl and Larry enter the ring and The Good Brothers Double Team Larry. Then Juice comes in.

FinJuice double team Larry before tagging in Doc and TGB double team Acey on the corner before Acey drops David and sends him into the corner. The heels take control and isolate David until he gets the hot tag to Doc who runs over all four members of the other team and clears the ring. TGB then pin Adam with the Magic Killer for the win.

Winner: The Good Brothers and FinJuice

We get a video package promo by IMPACT World champion Rich Swann ahead of his title defense against Moose at Sacrifice as we go to commercial.

Backstage

TGB and FinJuice argue before the two teams agree to a tag title match at Sacrifice.

Eddie Edwards vs Brian Myers w/ Special Guest Referee Matt Cardona

Brian thumbs the eye of Eddie and Suplexes him before wringing the arm of Eddie before Eddie hits an inverted atomic drop into an overhead belly to belly. Brian grabs a chair before Eddie flips over the top rope and onto Brian at ringside as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break to Brian in control of Eddie before Eddie comes back with a clothesline and a northern lights suplex. Eddie hits a Blue Thunder-bomb for two before Brian counters the Boston Knee Party before Eddie hits a backpack stunner for two before Brian hits Eddie with The Roster Cut. Matt then disqualifies Brian after he sees that Matt put something in his arm band before hitting Eddie.

Winner: Eddie Edwards

We get a breakdown for the card for Sacrifice on March 13th with the tag title match between The Good Brothers and FinJuice added. We then get a graphic for next week’s show with Ace Austin versus Chris Bey.

Deonna Purrazzo (w/ Susan & Kimber Lee) vs Jordynne Grace (w/ Jazz) vs Kiera Hogan (w/ Tasha Steelz)

We head to the ring for the next match-up of the evening! We get our ring entrances. Jordynne and Kiera immediately go after Deonna and send her out of the ring before exchanging as we go to commercial.

Brian Myers vs. Eddie Kingston

As we return from the commercial break, we head to the ring for the next match up of the evening, Matt Cardona is announced as the Special Referee for the match-up. After ring entrances, both opponents are in the ring as the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings and the next match is under way. To start things off, Myers and Kingston both head in, Myers thumbs Eddie in the eye. Cardona doesn’t notice. Next, Kingston manages to get in under Myers where he’s able to hit a belly-to-belly with Myers! Next Myers goes looking for a chair. At this point, Eddie gets over Cardona onto the outside of the ring onto Myers as we head to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break, we see Myers Suplex Kingston, as he follows up with a cover. Kingston immediately kicks out at one, both make their way back to their feet. Next we see the Kingston get a Chin Lock. Kingston gets to his feet for a jawbreaker, to no avail. Myers still maintains the upper-hand, heading to ringside to strut. Myers chokes Kingston with his boot before Snapmaring Kingston down for another sleeper. Next Kingston successfully lands a Sit Down Powerbomb for a two count. Brian hits a Flatliner for a two count.

Eddie hits a Backpack Stunner and almost gets the W, but Matt notices Brian’s foot is on the ropes. Brian gets to his feet and load his elbow he nails Eddie with a Roster Cut Clothesline, but Matt notices and disqualifies him. Brian is upset but the bell has rung.

Winner: Eddie Edwards

Quick Announcement

After the match, we get a quick announcement breaking down the card for Sacrifice on March 13th. It is noted that the tag title match between The Good Brothers and FinJuice gas been added. Ace Austin versus Chris Bey is highlighted.

Deonna Purrazzo vs Jordynne Grace vs Kiera Hogan

We head to the ring for the next match up of the evening as Purrazzo makes her way out with Susan and Kimber Lee. Out next is Jordynne Grace who is accompanied by Jazz. Kiera Hogan accompanied by Tasha Steelz as all three are set for the match up. The referee signals for the bell, the bell rings and the next match up is underway! Jordynne and Kiera immediately go after Deonna and send her out of the ring before exchanging as we go to commercial break.

As we return from the commercial break, we see that Jordynne in control of both Deonna and Kiera before sending Deonna out of the ring and suplexing Kiera for two. Deonna trips Jordynne and puts Kiera in a Fujiwara armbar that Jordynne breaks before Kiera can tap before hitting Kiera with a uranage. Deonna locks in a Fujiwara armbar before Jordynne gets to the ropes before Kiera hits Deonna with a diving cross body for two and covers both Deonna and Jordynne for a series of two counts.

Jordynne rocks Kiera with a rolling elbow before hitting a bridging German for two before everyone hits a move and collapses. The three exchange strikes until Deonna hits Kiera with a rolling exploder suplex for two deep two count that Jordynne breaks up. Jordynne hits a double clothesline before everyone brawls on the floor and Jordynne takes them out with a suicide dive. Jordynne tosses Kiera back inside and hits a running meteora in the corner into a sliding clothesline before missing a Vader bomb when Tasha pulls her out of the ring. Deonna then rolls Jordynne up out of nowhere for the pin and the win.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Purrazzo doesn’t get time to celebrate as ODB shows up and takes out Deonna before holding up the Knockouts Championship as we go off the air with ODB standing tall over Deonna. Show Ends.
